Routine as Repertoire

︎

In The Archive and the Repertoire, performance studies scholar Diane Taylor discussed the performance repertoire as a means of storing and transmitting knowledge through our bodies, conveyed in gestures, the spoken word, movement, dance, song, protests and other performances. Through filming and meeting the women in the project, we learn that our care routines are labor and wisdom, and the sharing of these often private moments, is a transmission of not only knowledge, but also resilience and solidarity.
